Keynote speech at OSCE Meeting on Torture and Multilateralism, 29 June 2026

The Head of the International Accountability Platform for Belarus (IAPB), Andrea Huber, delivered a keynote address at the OSCE Supplementary Human Dimension Meeting on Preventing Torture and Ill-Treatment: Strengthening Co-operation and Implementation, held in Vienna on 29–30 June 2026. In her remarks, she highlighted the importance of multilateral cooperation, survivor-centred documentation, and accountability mechanisms in combating torture and advancing justice and redress for victims, drawing on the experience of the IAPB. The meeting, organised by the Swiss Chair-in-Office of the OSCE and the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), brought together participating States, civil society, international organisations and experts to discuss practical measures to prevent torture and ill-treatment, strengthen safeguards, and improve accountability and redress for victims.
